Muralist + helping hands needed for community mural project!
Call for Artists:
Bushwick IMPACT (a family center on Central Ave.) seeks a mural artist! We have a fabulous outdoor space that we’re converting into a garden and play area, and there are two large walls to paint. This project is being conducted in partnership with Arts in Bushwick.
The mural artist will work in conjunction with parents, children, and staff at IMPACT to come up with a concept that reflects our views of our community and goals. The artist will be responsible for the ultimate design. ** Previous experience with large-scale mural work absolutely necessary.**
If you would like to be involved with the project in some other capacity, that’s great, too! We also need volunteers for painting days (weekends TBD — we’re looking at the middle to end of May), landscapers, and gardeners.
Email chloe@artsinbushwick.org to sign up, ask questions, or get more information.

Dear Arts In Bushwick,
I’m a visual artist living in Bushwick and am interested to learn more about this opportunity. I have experience painting murals and am currently working as an artist educator for the Brooklyn Arts Council teaching mural painting and set design workshops to young students. I’m from Mexico and have lived about half my life in the U.S. My personal art work tends more towards abstraction and minimalism, but I studied and have experience working with representational & figurative art. Please let me know if it’s possible for us to meet to discuss the project and see the site.
Best regards,
Jorge Rojas
